Lin Merage: Environmentalist and Philanthropist

Committed to healing the environment and improving the lives of others, Lin Merage continually strives to advance the common good as both a business owner and a philanthropist. For the past seven years, Ms. Merage has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Solne Collections, an Internet business she founded in 2004 to promote the environmental movement and support sustainable living. Under her direction, Solne provides its eco-conscious customers with a wide array of products that help to safeguard human health and the planet’s fragile ecosystems.

Apart from her duties at Solne, Lin Merage backs environmental efforts as a member of Green America, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Organic Trade Association. She also provides support to The Berkeley Center for Green Chemistry, which is developing an interdisciplinary academic program to address the global need for sustainable chemical production.

In addition to acting as a steward to the environment, Lin Merage contributes to a number of charitable causes and organizations that serve the public interest. Currently, she makes anonymous food donations on a monthly basis to a disadvantaged family with seven children and presides over a foundation that assists special-needs students by subsidizing the costs of their education, including books and housing. Ms. Merage also supports Denver Academy and has donated funds to The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect, an organization headquartered in Aurora, Colorado, that has been a leader against the abuse of children for more than 40 years.
